Our lab website uses the browser local storage to save the setting when Dark Mode support is turned on or off.
Local storage is necessary for the setting to work and is only used when a user clicks on the Dark Mode button.
No data is saved in the database or transferred.
Mailing list
Bytegold meta list
We run a mailing list that we call the Bytegold meta list. With it we keep our friends & family updated. Only a few mails per year.
What data do we collect
If you subscribe to our mailing list we collect your email address and optionally your name and you have to consent to the usage of your data as outlined here.
To subscribe you have to double opt-in. That means after you entered your data and clicked “subscribe” you will receive an email with a confirmation link. Only after clicking this link will you start receiving our Bytegold meta list mailings.
Who we share your data with
We do not share your data with anyone, but we use the Google Workspace SMTP relay service to send emails. You can read about Google Cloud & the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
How long we retain your data
Once you are subscribed we keep your sign-up information indefinitely.
We also keep track of which emails we sent to you at which point in time.
What rights you have over your data
You can easily unsubscribe from our mailing list by clicking the unsubscribe link at the end of every mailing. If you unsubscribe yourself we still keep your sign-up information in our system but you will not receive any more mailings.
You can also contact us to request that we manually remove all your information from our mailing list system.
